Giacomo de Pass

In 1954, Giacomo de Pass starts to build his artistic knowledge at the "Beaux-Arts in Casablanca.
Success is immediate, specially in 1955 during his first group exhibition. He was in charge of many pictorial, architectural realizations and of balnear villages. He then starts to work in the free academies of Barcelona, Madrid and Paris, and then the "Beaux-Arts" of Venizia and Milan.
In 1958, he suddenly decides to change his way willing to find more competition and confrontation at the "Ecole de Paris". Exclusively living for his art, he now goes to the free academies of Frochot, Jullian, de la Grande Chaumière, "l'Atelier de la Bûcherie" and "Ecole Nationale Supérieure de dessin" in Montparnasse.
Starting from 1956, Giacomo de Pass took part in many exhibitions in Morocco then in Paris: Museum of modern Art,  "Salon des Indépendants",   "Surindépendants", and many others biennials like  S.P.A. Belgique, Blak and White...
Starting from 1960, Mrs. Capitaine becomes his exclusive acquit and realizes his first big Parisian exhibition at the "Transposition Gallery" in Montparnasse.
In the same period, Françoise Tournié who passionately defends Giacomo de Pass Art, enables him to expose in prestigious manifestations with Braque, Chagall, Miro, Pénalba, Tapiès, André Lhote, Grommaire ... She also organized exhibitions  part of cultural exchanges, like the one between France (which invited Nilstroem) and Sweden which presented Giacomo de Pass Art in different cities (Halmstad, Valberg, Göteborg, Stockholm ...)

Marie Lesavouroux supported  Giacomo de Pass' s creations to exhibit them in Marocco from 1963 to 1969 , in Casablanca, Rabat, Agadir, Marrakech and Tanger.
During a few years, governmental services from Spain (information and tourism) organized  wonderful big exhibitions  in this country. Barcelona, Malaga, Benidorm, Torré-molinos...)

Giacomo de Pass en compagnie de Félix VercelFrom 1967, FELIX VERCEL galleries (avenue Matignon in Paris and Madison Avenue in New York) who had Giacomo de Pass worldwide exclusivity, exhibited his creations permanently. Félix Vercel has then promoted his Art, whatever the topics Giacomo de Pass chose unusual themes like: prostitution, deviations advertising, beaten children or women love.
A deep admiration and mutual understanding were the background of these 19 years of collaboration until 1986. At this time, with friendliness Felix Vercel told Giacomo:  "With respect of your personality and your creations, I leave you free of any engagement, because you are an artist who deeply needs freedom to find one's Art very fulfilling
The following years were very rich in particularly warm and friendly acquaintances.

From 1986 Giacomo de Pass still punched ahead by Felix Vercel follows an unusual artistic way.
Still full of conviction as he expresses in his bibliography written by Andre Paranaud "the two great enemies an artist are esthetic attraction and subservience to up date a fashion cultural movement."
With remarkable original and renewed expression  Giacomo de Pass  goes on with a full of life, richness and interrogations creation
